Newly appointed as a private client solicitor and associate director, Amy Codd is providing clients with expert advice and support in all areas of probate client work including wills, lasting power of attorney, probate and court of protection orders.
Before joining the Duncan & Toplis Group, Amy trained and worked as a private client solicitor having previously worked in management roles within the NHS.
“Working as a private client solicitor is a real privilege. People put their absolute trust in you and share their most personal wishes. In probate, you support families in their most challenging moments and I take that responsibility very seriously.
Generally, people don’t talk about wills and inheritance until it’s needed. I want to help people have those conversations and plan for their death or the loss of a loved one so they don’t have to worry about it when the time comes.”
Amy completed a graduate training scheme at the NHS and is a former chair of Newark Business Club. She took a career break when her children were born and during this time, she gained her legal qualifications by studying part-time at Nottingham Trent University.
As associate director, Amy works alongside director and head of legal practice, Graeme Hills and although she’s based primarily at our Grantham office, she’ll be travelling across the region to support our clients.
Amy sees great potential in Duncan & Toplis and she’s looking forward to helping the company to grow and continue delivering these important services to people and families predominately across the East Midlands.
“Duncan & Toplis is one of the most reputable companies in the region and it has all the traditional qualities that you’d expect from a 94 year old firm that’s been helping companies and families for generations. It also has a dynamic and ambitious outlook which embraces innovation and modernity. Duncan & Toplis is a brilliant team to be part of and I’m looking forward to helping the company grow and evolve as we do our best for the needs of our clients.”
