Duncan & Toplis win Commitment to People Development award

The team are celebrating again after being awarded the Commitment to People Development Award at the prestigious East Midlands Chamber Nottinghamshire Business Awards.

The award sought to recognise organisations which demonstrated commitment to people development and the implementation and promotion of a learning and development culture.

Across the firm we employ approximately 370 people and offer a range of training contracts and opportunities for individuals at different levels of their career. Earlier this month a group of 20 students attended an induction day prior to commencing their accountancy training with us.

Our commitment to development continues beyond gaining an accountancy qualification with the opportunity for team members to engage in management training and business development coaching.

Adrian Reynolds, Managing Director, said: “We are absolutely committed to providing and developing high quality roles within Duncan & Toplis that allow individuals to reach their potential and enjoy a rewarding career with the firm. We have invested significantly in our people development over recent years and this award is a credit to everyone that has been involved in seeing those changes through.”

East Midlands Chamber President, Geoff Poyzer, said: “Congratulations to Duncan & Toplis on winning the Commitment to People Development Award at the Chamber’s Nottinghamshire Business Awards on Friday. In fact, congratulations to all of this year’s winners – we had some really good entries and the judging process, as it is every year, was extremely tough. But all the winning businesses thoroughly deserve their success.

“The Chamber’s awards are testament to the quality of the businesses we have in this city and county and I applaud each and every one of them. The standard of competition was extremely high this year, which clearly shows that we have some real success stories of Nottinghamshire businesses doing very well despite the current political uncertainties of Brexit and a Government without a clear majority. Over the past 12 months, businesses in Nottinghamshire have been busy keeping calm and carrying on investing, innovating, exporting and growing.”

2017 has been a very successful year for the team after also being named the Regional Winner of the Large Accountancy Firm of the Year by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
