The Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) and the Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) qualifications are both premier financial business qualifications, which are respected worldwide and provide a great qualification for future business leaders.
This training is offered through the recently introduced level 7 apprenticeship. We work closely with the professional bodies to ensure that your work prepares you for the exams and your study will involve a huge time commitment every week, you need to be realistic about the long hours and the amount of hard work required. We will invest in your training and ensure that you get the support and professional experience you need to become successful accounts, tax and business advisers.
Professional training consists of a series of modules designed to test your understanding of accountancy techniques, financial concepts and principles as well as legal and tax issues. These are all tested via examination and through work based learning. In addition through working at Duncan & Toplis you will learn how to apply your technical skills and to respond to genuine problems that arise in commercial situations.
Our mentor/buddie scheme helps students through the early months of employment and training at Duncan & Toplis. In addition we provide exam bonuses and salary increases as you progress through the qualification along with a 6 monthly appraisal scheme linked to our competency framework.
We provide student development days, CPD technical training sessions and management development training in the final year of your training contract and social events are set up including wine appreciation, NCASS dinner, The Duncan & Toplis Summer Ball and The Duncan & Toplis Annual Quiz, all geared to encourage a collaborative working environment, confidence building and support a positive social awareness.
At the end of your training contract, should you wish to specialise in a specific business area, then we would be keen to support this at your existing office or at another office where a vacancy exists. By the end of your training contract you will have the commercial understanding and confidence to consider and interpret business issues faced by accountants and business advisers every day.
Post qualification we offer a range of in house and external training courses on a range of technical subjects along with our Stage 2 Management Development course and Business Development course ensuring our employees stay up to date and have the skills to develop their careers.
