Payroll Processor

The Payroll Processor is responsible for delivering timely processing of our clients’ payrolls and supporting the on the job training of junior team members.

We currently have two positions available for a Payroll Processor at our Lincoln, Melton Mowbray or Spalding offices.

The key responsibilities for this role are to:

  • Complete accurate data entry and processing of sensitive and confidential client information in a timely manner, upload pension files to the relevant providers and complete payroll journals

  • Ensure all processing is reviewed by another team member or Team Leader

  • Maintain general database and master payroll records for Real Time Information purposes

  • Support your payroll hub outside of your client portfolio as necessary to meet client and service needs, ensuring quality standards and deadlines are met

  • Action client enquiries in relation to payroll, benefits and expenses

  • Be proactive in identifying potential issues before they arise

  • Immediately report any issues and concerns to your Team Leader

  • Present a high level of confidentiality and discretion at all times

  • Provide guidance, training and support to team members, particularly trainees

  • Attend and play an active role in team meetings as well as undertaking training to develop relevant knowledge and skills

  • Be proactive in taking on additional duties as required in line with skills and experience

  • In time, be responsible for reviewing the work of trainees and processors in your team

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a good communicator to maintain positive working relationships with internal and external individuals and to manage client expectations

  • Have a strong attention to detail and organisational skills

  • Be able to remain focused under pressure and whilst working to deadlines

  • Follow direction well and work effectively as part of a team to set goals and resolve problems

  • Have a basic knowledge of Pension Automatic Enrolment, the Apprenticeship Levy and of the Employment Allowance

  • Posses, be working towards or willing to achieve a Payroll Level 3 qualification
